Well, I didn't win the contest, but I don't feel bad. Seems that everything in it that won was anime. And take a wild guess who doesn't like or draw anime.
This is Teal Harper. He lives in a future where the color has begun to fade like a photograph left out in the sun. When he was younger, what did he care? He couldn't see the color anyways. He was born colorblind. His father was an artist and color was his world, so they didn't get along. Then, when his mother died, he had nothing but a monochromatic world. A tragic accident a year later almost kills him, but when he wakes up, the sounds he hears turn into color right before his eyes. He finally sees what his father saw so beautiful. The guitar was a gift from his father before he died as well, but despite the deaths of his parents, Teal didn't hate the world anymore. With his new gift for music, he paints his own world with color, but sees the need in others to stop the fading. So he starts painting graffiti murals. Along with the rest of the Chromatica Underground, he introduces the world to color.
Quote: "What's all the color without a little black and white?"
In short: Name: Teal Harper Age: 19 likes: color, all sorts of music dislikes: fighting, silence style: whatever he can get his hands on He is a pacifist who tries to get along with everyone and make everyone get along with each other, sadly (and ironically) people have wanted to fight him for this.
I like the way you handled the wall better than you did him though... looks like you were free and loose when doing the wall, but tightened up when you worked on him. As a result he looks a little bit stiff while the wall has a really interesting expressiveness to it. Also, it'd help if you solidified the lighting source and strengthened the shadows to give him more definite depth and shape.

First off, everyone here at deviantART would like to say THANK YOU!!! We have received an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm for the launch of version 6 and believe that this has been our best-received launch to date.
You might even be one hell of a profesional, but if you don't SHOW it and PROVE it, how will everyone know? These facts are important not only when you are looking for a job, but in any situation when you wish to showcase your work. I decided to share a few guidelines that might help you give the best of yourself and help you be a better profesional.

`karemelancholia is one of the most genuine deviants you could ever met. Always active and a true deviantART cheerleader and supporter in every aspect. You can always count on her to lend a hand or get involved, and you usually will find her doing large amounts of both at any given moment. She's consistently reports on contests around dA, showcases the efforts of her fellow artists and shows her charitable side through various activities. Besides all of this, she's a truly talented artist which is why she's an obvious choice for deviousness this month. Read More
